Entry 36

Hi,
It is with a joyful heart I say “Happy New Week and Happy New Month!”
Whether you want to believe it or not, God has been faithful, despite our own inconsistencies. (If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is. – 2 Timothy 2:13)
This month marks the beginning of the second half of the year and I feel it’s only befitting of me to reveal my intimate thoughts to the world again. Besides, it has been a while since I updated this diary. So, here I am.
What I want to talk about today is something that is very crucial and what I have to say about it is not much. Many of us are aware of the significance of the number “Two”. In most meaning-levels, number “2” stands for Partnership; a relationship between two individuals; an agreed-to association between a couple of entities or sometimes more.
Many things in life come in twos. There is no light without darkness; no good without evil; no joy without sorrow; no sweetness without bitterness; and definitely, no man without the woman.
Every good relationship exists in twos – the true definition of marriage (the bond between man and wife); the association of God and man; the matrimony of the Spiritual and the Physical; the love between friends; the friendship of the body and the soul; and of course, the enmity between the spirit and the soul.
However, for this sake of this entry, I will be focusing on the Association between God and Man.
Right from the dawn of creation, it has always been God’s intention to enjoy a smooth, deeply satisfying relationship with man. In fact, one of the main reasons why man was created is to keep God company. Why else would He create man in His own spitting image? After all, birds of a feather, they say, flock together.
There is a deep longing that God has placed in every man. A wide space that exists right from the moment man became a living being, and became more pronounced from the time man could differentiate between good and evil. And nothing else will fill that space completely except the Creator of Man Himself. God has made man in such ways that he (man) will never feel complete unless he is connected with the One Being who made him in the first instance. This is why all the achievements in life cannot make man happy unless he enjoys the presence of his Creator. God has placed Eternity in the heart of man, so says the Bible, and Eternity as I know it is the truest definition of the personality of God.
For life to be completely meaningful, man needs to form a formidable partnership with his Creator. There are a whole lot of things to benefit from this partnership. The truth is, when we look at it critically, man is really the sole beneficiary of this partnership. The tree, with or without the presence of its branches, is a living entity. The branches have more to gain from the tree than the tree, from the branches. A river cannot do without its source. And the day the clay pot forsakes the relationship between itself and the potter, it ceases to exist.
We cannot go through life and emerge at the end of the dangerous sojourn a complete overcomer unless we are in a partnership with our Maker. Everything we do, everything we are needs the divine touch of God. Everywhere we are, everywhere we intend to be needs the presence of the Divine. If we can do a lot by our own human abilities, we can do so much more when our strength is joined with that of God. There is no weakness in God; this is why even our own weaknesses are turned into strength in Him. The Bible recognises this truth and professes that if One chases a thousand, then Two will chase ten thousands. How much more when the second entity in that partnership is the Creator of Heaven and Earth Himself.
Life is too dangerous a journey to take on alone and Eternity is too long a period of time to spend without a constant, steady partner. The simple truth of everything is – we need God. The past has taught me this, the present keeps hammering on it and the future is already laying the foundations for the lasting memorials of this salient truth.
So, forsake everyone, but do not forsake your Creator, for in Him is the summary of life and the complete view of Eternity.
Therefore, in this new week, month and the second half of the year, I would like you to be deliberate about being in a partnership with your Maker. The fastest and surest way to success which has fulfilment is to involve God in everything from the very beginning. No one does business with God and comes out with losses.
God is every ready to be friends with you, but He is too much of a gentleman to force you into a relationship you do not consciously want.
Life has no meaning without God, Eternity has no appeal without Him and Death is a transition into painful nothingness without His Presence. The Presence of God is, in truth, the Heaven we daily seek. And even Hell becomes Paradise when it is exposed to the radiant glory of His triumphant light. After all, He is the Father of Lights – Shadows have no place in Him.
To buttress my message, I wrote this short poem. I hope it ministers to you in ways beyond even my expectations and imaginations:
Partners with God
When Life’s clutches snatch at me, And the Realm of Shades rears its head:
Abba, I’ll walk with You – And You’ll be the Twinkling Star of my morning, The Fiery Sun of my noon, And the Gentle Moon of my night;
You’ll hold my hands, And lift me on Your infinite shoulders;
You’ll be the Glory of my Brightest Summer, And the Comfort of my Bitterest Winter…
